About the event
Tech Camp is a two-week immersive experience designed to mirror the real process of mounting a live musical. During the first week, campers attend Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, focusing on learning the fundamentals of scenic construction, painting, lighting, sound, props, and backstage operations. There is no camp on Saturday or Sunday during the first week. In the second week, campers continue on Monday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, then transition into real production hours Tuesday through Saturday from 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM, and Sunday from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. During this time, campers will serve as the official technical crew for the opening weekend of Annie the Musical, applying everything they’ve learned in a real performance environment. This schedule gives campers the rare opportunity to experience both the learning process and the excitement of running a live show alongside professional theatre artists.

This registration reserves one camper’s spot in Tech Camp at Marietta’s Theatre in the Square. Open to students ages 12–18, this camp is designed for young creatives who want to explore the world behind the scenes of live theatre. Campers will learn how to build sets, paint scenery, run lights and sound, organize props, and work backstage as part of the technical crew for our summer production of Annie the Musical. No prior experience is needed—just curiosity, creativity, and a will to learn.
