Melissa Lola Youngblood
Melissa Lola Youngblood is honored to join the Board of Directors of the Theatre Square Art Alliance for Marietta’s Theatre in the Square. The arts and performance have been a lifelong passion for her.
Originally from Miami, Florida, Ms. Youngblood attended performing arts schools, including the prestigious New World School of the Arts. She continued her formal training at Florida State University, where she studied Musical Theatre.
Professionally, Ms. Youngblood has performed on stages around the world in productions such as Ain’t Misbehavin’ and Twist… An American Musical, directed by Debbie Allen. She currently works in film and television, with guest-starring roles on Atlanta, BMF, The Oval, and the upcoming drama The Good Daughter.
Ms. Youngblood is also a dedicated arts educator at Campbell Middle School, where she has developed a thriving middle school theatre program. Her work prepares students for acceptance into local high school performing arts programs, including the Cobb County Center for Excellence in the Performing Arts at Pebblebrook High School. Through her teaching and mentorship, Ms. Youngblood serves as a role model for perseverance, discipline, and the importance of never giving up on one’s dreams.
